June Sarpong is one of the most recognisable faces in British television. Over the course of her 20-year career, Sarpong has interviewed countless politicians and celebrities and hosted events such as Make Poverty History and Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations.
Today she is a panellist on Sky News’ weekly current affairs debate show “The Pledge”, among others, and in 2019 she was appointed as the BBC’s first Director of Creative Diversity. As part of her role, Sarpong will develop strategies to support both on-air and production talent representation and portrayal across the BBC, its platforms and its partners, to make the BBC more inclusive and representative of the broad and diverse audience it serves.
Sarpong is the author of two award-winning books, ‘Diversify: Six Degrees of Integration’ (2017) and ‘The Power of Women’ (2018).
